36. Zedekiah king of Judah. The destruction of Jerusalem. God gave many warnings to Zedekiah and the nation but they were all ignored. 2 Chronicles 36:11-21.
37. The book finishes with the same words which are used at the start of the next book, that of Ezra. ‘The Lord, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah.’ These words give hope and show God’s continuing love for his exiled people. 2 Chronicles 36:22-23.
